2010 Jeff Annas Memorial Firefighters 5k Run Saturday, September 18th at 8:00 am $20 Pre-registration, $25 Race Day Registration, Kids 1K Fun Run is Free |
We hope you come out to join us for the 3rd Annual Jeff Annas Memorial Firefighters 5k Run. Last year over 600 runners (including 100 firefighters) participated in the 5k run along with 50 kids in the fun run. There will be free t-shirts for every registered runner, medals to all kids in the Kids 1k, a post race firefighters barbeque, post race massages, music, and awards to the top 3 finishers in 5 year age groups. Fire Apparatus will be on display and firefighters will staff a post race “cooling station” with misting fans and cooling chairs. New this year we will be using the “Ultra Disposable Chip Timing System”. The chip is pre-attached to the runner’s number which will make race day registration much smoother! We will also have a starting line mat to record start times for a more accurately times race. In addition to race day registration and packet pickup between 6:30 and 7:30 am there is pre-registration available at Fit2Run in the Wellington Mall and Run and Roll in Cityplace. Whole Foods Wellington is also offering a Fuel for a 5K at their block party September 14th. More information available on the Registration Page. Also new this year is that 100% of the race proceeds will be split between the Firefighters Benevolent and the Kids Cancer Foundation of South Florida. The Firefighters Benevolent is also using the proceeds to establish the Jeff Annas Memorial Scholarship Fund to help graduating seniors from Palm Beach County Schools. |
