Brief Description
The 2012 Jeff Annas Firefighters 5K will be held on September 15, 2012 at the City of Wellington Amphitheater starting at 8:00 am. Last year over 900 runners registered for this growing event. 100% of race proceeds will go to Little Smiles of Florida and the Jeff Annas Memorial Scholarship Fund. Come on out and join the over 100 firefighters that annually participate in the race. It’s a GREAT race for a GREAT cause!!!

 

T-Shirts/ Medals
Not only will every runner receive a finisher medal but we again will have a wide selection of different types of shirts to choose from!!! Yes that’s right....much to the dismay of the volunteers who have to organize the shirts, we will have tech t's, long sleeve, short sleeve, different colors, and are working on a woman's only style shirt.

Awards
The much coveted Firefighter Trophy will be awarded to the top 3 in each 5 year age group. Do you have what it takes??? If you don't get a trophy...no problem...remember EVERYONE gets a finishers medal!!!

Food!!!
What’s a Firefighter event without some good food? Whole Foods Wellington will again be supplying food for the post race Firefighters Barbecue. Nothing like some Ribs and Chicken Wings after a Saturday morning race! Of course there will be the usual bananas, oranges and other "stuff" for the traditionalists out there...Thank you Whole Foods!!!

Kids Fun Run
The Kids Run often is the highlight of the day for many. We are still working on this year’s course but it should be somewhere around 1/2 mile. The Kids will start around 9:00. EVERY child will receive a number, and a finisher’s medal!!! And it’s FREE!!! Race day registration only for the kids...run will NOT be timed.

Charity
Once again proceeds will be split between Little Smiles of Florida and the Jeff Annas Memorial Scholarship Fund. Last year we were able to present Little Smiles a check for $5,000!!! And...we are awarding $5,000 in Scholarships to local High School students!!! Little Smiles is based in Wellington and a great way to help out our own community.

Packet Pick up Sites
Information on packet pick up will be made available as we get closer to race day.

Team Challenge
Get your teams ready. You need at least 5 and no more than 7 people on a team.  More info to follow on signing up for a team but it will not eliminate you from any individual awards.
