Capt Jeff Annas was a dedicated public servant to the citizens of Palm Beach County. He served 25 years in this capacity as a Firefighter/Paramedic before his untimely death on March 30th, 2008. Jeff was also a registered nurse, a SWAT Medic, and one of the original crew members of the Trauma Hawk. Capt Annas had won numerous awards throughout his career including international Paramedic competitions. Jeff was a mentor to many and his legacy lives on every day in Palm Beach County through the actions of the hundreds of Paramedics he helped teach and guide.
Jeff was also an avid runner. He had run numerous local races including the Disney Marathon. One of Jeff's long term goals was to one day organize a 5k run. In the fall of 2007 Jeff began to realize this dream and began the process of organizing what he wanted to call "The Firefighters 5k Run". The date was set for September 13th, 2008. Jeff chose the Firefighters/ Paramedics Benevolent Fund as the charity due to the work that they do not only for firefighters, but also for members of the community. |
